Southeastern Veterans' Center

Veterans know they are headed to a welcoming, patriotic home

Situated along the Schuylkill River in Spring City, Chester County, the Southeastern Veterans’ Center (SEVC) provides peaceful, scenic living, while only 45 minutes from downtown Philadelphia.

Dozens of American flags line both sides of the drive leading up to the entrance of the SEVC, culminating with even more flags representing each branch of military service. The patriotic theme of our home continues throughout the inside of the building with military artwork and displays, reminding every resident that they are celebrated every day for their service and sacrifice.

Patriotic symbols are not the only way our residents are honored. SEVC provides exceptional care for its residents thanks to a professional staff -- many of whom are veterans -- who proudly come to work each day excited and are honored to take care of true American heroes. Visits to the home by current service members and from representatives of local veteran service organizations are very common and provide a constant reminder that our residents are thought about often throughout the Spring City community.

An Active Lifestyle With All The Comforts

Residents at SEVC enjoy an active lifestyle with a full schedule of organized programs from bingo night, to gardening groups, to regular summer visits by a local ice cream truck. For residents looking for personal time, the home includes a glassed-lined passageway to “Main Street,” which supports a bank, post office, all denominational chapel, library, barber/stylist shop and snack shop. When our residents want to relax and enjoy the outdoors, they can either sit on the screened porch overlooking the home’s lush grounds or take a leisurely stroll around the facility to admire the beautiful landscaping.

Honoring Our Heroes

A Community That Offers Fun and Excitement

Living a fun, active lifestyle goes beyond the SEVC grounds for our residents. Philadelphia offers our residents culture and entertainment with big museums, art galleries and four major professional sports teams to enjoy. But many of our residents are drawn closer to home where they can attend car shows, go fishing, or do some shopping. Popular among our residents are local museums like the American Helicopter Museum and Education Center in West Chester, Museum of Historic Vehicles in Boyertown and the Mack Truck Museum in Allentown.

For a good-feel trip to honor fellow veterans, residents only need to travel to nearby Royersford and stroll through town admiring the “hometown hero” banners that line the streets featuring photos and military background on the local heroes who served and sacrificed. Of course, a junket to the Valley Forge National Historical Park, 3,500-acres of monuments, meadows, and woodlands commemorating the sacrifices and perseverance of the Revolutionary War generation, is wildly popular with our residents.

Excellent care. Hannah (social worker) is great. She cares for you as a person not as a patient.
