Veteran Rapid Retraining Assistance Program:
 
 
To assist unemployed veterans who have lost jobs due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Department of Veterans Affairs implemented the Veteran Rapid Retraining Assistance Program (VRRAP). The program provides up to 12 months of tuition and fees, as well as a monthly housing allowance, to eligible veterans training toward employment in a high-demand occupation. Governor Wolf Announces 79 New Jobs As Bunting Inc. Expands, Adds Facility in Lawrence County:
 
 
Governor Tom Wolf announced that homegrown manufacturing company Bunting, Inc. is expanding and will create 79 new jobs in Lawrence County, with the acquisition of a new manufacturing facility in New Castle, PA, Bunting purchased a 333,980-square-foot building on 24.3 acres, and will utilize the new facility as an aluminum extrusion mill. This expansion will allow the company to enter the aluminum extrusion market, and produce goods for the building, construction, automotive, and transportation sectors.
 
Increased Need For Geriatrics Professionals As Number Of Aging Veterans Rises:
 
 
With VA planning to expand several programs that allow aging veterans to stay in their homes for live in home-like settings, positions with their geriatrics and extended-care teams have more value than ever. Expansions of the Home-Based Primary Care (HBPC) and Veteran-Directed Care programs announced in late January will provide medical care and caregiver services to house-bound older veterans. The Medical Foster Home program, which provides housing and services to veterans who otherwise would be in nursing homes, will also be expanded. Expanding these programs will result in more opportunities for a VA career serving elderly veterans, on the clinical side as well as in the areas of business, administration, accounting, food service, and even chaplains. Governor Wolf Announces New Manufacturing Jobs Coming To Sullivan County
 
 
Governor Tom Wolf announced that New England-based UnityLab will create 63 new jobs and relocate its headquarters to Pennsylvania, with the acquisition of manufacturing company Hoffman-New Yorker Inc. in Dushore, Sullivan County. Founded in 2018, Unity Lab is a technology-enabled maker of commercial appliances focused on meeting the needs of small businesses.
