Veterans' Trust Fund Grant Program
Administered by the Pennsylvania Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (DMVA), the Veterans' Trust Fund (VTF) has always been an important funding resource for organizations that help Pennsylvania veterans and their families. Since the grant program began in 2013, a total of $3,732,860 has been awarded to organizations that serve Pennsylvania veterans.
Grant Opportunities: The 2020-21 Veterans' Trust Fund grant cycle is closed. Applications are currently under review and awards will be announced in Spring.
DMVA is announcing the availability of up to $800,000 in competitive grant funding from the Veterans' Trust Fund (VTF). This amount consists of:
Up to $650,000 for veterans' service organizations (VSOs) with 501(c)(19) status under the Internal Revenue Code and non-profit organizations with 501(c)(3) status under the Internal Revenue Code that have a mission of serving Pennsylvania veterans. Funding priorities for the 2020-21 grant year are programs that address homelessness, behavioral health initiatives or veterans' courts. The maximum grant request in this category is $50,000.
Up to $150,000 for grants to the Pennsylvania Association of County Directors of Veterans Affairs or grants to counties, either individually or jointly for multiple counties working together, for programs operated by their County Directors of Veterans Affairs. The priorities for the 2020-21 fiscal year are programs in support of veterans' outreach and veterans' courts. The maximum grant request in this category is $20,000 per county.
Organizations will be required to sign a grant agreement. Funds will be released to the grantees upon full execution of the grant agreement.
Applications must be received, whether electronically or by hard copy, at the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs by 2:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time on Wednesday, January 27, 2021.
