Position Announcement
The Acting Adjutant General, on behalf of the Governor, is seeking veterans who are citizens of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to serve on the State Veterans' Commission as a member-at-large.
We seek to fill to three member-at-large positions, one of whom, by statute, must be a woman veteran. We encourage veterans of the more recent conflict eras to apply to fill the other available position. Specific attributes we seek in candidates are executive-level skills in the subject areas of education, employment, and health care (which includes homelessness and state veterans' homes). However, all applicants will be given due consideration.
The period of appointment for each is as follows:
Position #1 (woman veteran only): from appointment until July 27, 2024
Position #2 (veteran): from appointment until July 27, 2024
Position #3 (veteran): from appointment until July 27, 2025
Therefore, the Nomination Committee is looking for those citizens of character and competence needed to enhance the operations and functioning of this important commission which advises the Adjutant General, the Governor, and others while advocating on behalf of all the commonwealth's veterans.
The application period begins April 30, 2021. The deadline for submission of a complete application complying with the rules set forth in How to Apply (section below) is June 30, 2021, at 4 p.m. without exception.
Please note that the application must be submitted via email with the required attachments as one PDF document in the proper order to be accepted. Hardcopy submissions will not be accepted. If errors are found after submission, a complete resubmission is allowed until the deadline above. Note in the email that this is a correction to a previous submission.
