Report A Concern

Our No. 1 priority at each of our six veterans homes is the health, welfare and safety of our residents and the staff who serve them. We take the concerns of our residents, their families and staff very seriously. If you ever feel that you are not being treated appropriately, we want to hear from you.

We have compiled this list of resources to help you have a voice, so please don’t hesitate to speak up!

Call the DMVA Compliance Hotline! (PA Dept. of Military and Veterans Affairs)

You have a voice in the health, welfare, safety and security of residents at Pennsylvania’s six Veterans Homes and DMVA’s Chief Compliance Officer would like to hear about it. If you suspect or have questions about violations of laws, regulations, BVH policies or ethical/professional standards at any of Pennsylvania’s Veterans Homes please call: 1-833-945-0176 or report it online at: Ra-mvbvhcompliance@pa.gov  (24/7 reporting available, *anonymous/confidential, *no retaliation).

PA Veterans Home Resident Grievance Program (PA Dept. of Military and Veterans Affairs)

This program ensures that an oral or written complaint concerning any alleged wrong or violation of rule, regulation, policy or procedure can be submitted by the resident, resident’s responsible party or other concerned person as well as staff, regarding issues, but not limited to: the residents’ care; abuse or neglect; treatment; violation of resident rights; management of funds or misappropriation of personal property. Read the full PIM here. Access the Resident Grievance form here.

Pennsylvania’s Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program (PA Dept. of Aging)

The PA Dept. of Aging’s Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program works to resolve complaints and issues on behalf of individuals residing in long-term care settings, such as nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and personal care homes. Ombudsmen empower residents by educating them on their rights under federal and state law and advocate for those who are unable to advocate for themselves, to ensure that they receive the highest quality of care. Division of Nursing Care Facilities (PA Dept. of Health)

The PA Dept. of Health licenses and regulates in-patient healthcare facilities like nursing homes and hospitals. All complaints filed are confidential and their team investigates every complaint received.
